Capturing the Magic: A Maternity Photoshoot with Maddie

Today was a truly special day at Midnight and Moonstone Portraits. I had the pleasure of photographing Maddie, a dear friend I’ve known for about two years through a mom group we both used to be part of. Maddie is expecting her third child, and it was an honor to capture this precious moment as she awaits the arrival of her new bundle of joy.

As soon as Maddie walked into the studio, I knew this session was going to be magical. She radiated beauty and grace, embodying the serene strength of an expectant mother. We started with some soft, natural shots, capturing the tender moments as she cradled her growing belly. The delicate pink gown she wore added a touch of elegance and whimsy to the photos, perfectly complementing the dreamy backdrop.

Throughout the session, there was an abundance of laughter and joy. Maddie has such a vibrant spirit, and it was infectious. At one point, we decided to play some music, and soon enough, there was dancing. It was such a beautiful sight – Maddie swaying gently, eyes closed, lost in the moment. These candid moments were some of my favorites to capture, as they truly reflect her joyous anticipation.

One of the highlights of the day was when Maddie started sharing stories about her previous pregnancies and the excitement of welcoming another child into their family. Her face lit up with each story, and it was clear just how much love and warmth this new baby will be surrounded by.

We also managed to get some behind-the-scenes footage, which will be available soon. These clips capture the essence of the shoot – the laughter, the tender moments, and the genuine connection between us. I can’t wait to share them with you all, as they truly encapsulate the magic of the day.

As we wrapped up the session, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Not only for the opportunity to document such a significant time in Maddie’s life but also for the friendship we’ve built over the past two years. These moments are what make my job so incredibly rewarding.
